Uniform Guide
Effectively immediately…this supersedes past directives regarding Corps uniform
1. Black Trousers 1 OCT – 31 MAR
2. White trousers 1 APR – 30 SEP
3. Black Trousers are still worn in the evening after 1800hrs regardless of what time of the year.
Parade Dress: for ceremonial events
- Use PDC (parade dress coat, or coatee), black neck stock, full size metals, shako, sword, sash, white gloves
- High-waisted black trousers with red stripe during Winter, or White high waisted trousers – See schedule above
- Use cape (or all-weather coat) for weather
- Worn with low quarter black leather service shoes 0r low quarter high gloss service shoes – leather soles and heel.
Mess Dress: for ceremonial dinners, annual mess
- Use unbuttoned PDC (parade dress coat, or coatee), bow tie, miniature medals, black trousers; enlisted: red Cummerbund/officers: white vest
- High-waisted black trousers with red stripe
- No sword, sash nor shako unless required by color guard commander for color guard detail
- Use shako (or beret) and white gloves for extended travel
- Use cape (or all-weather coat) for weather
- Worn with low quarter black leather service shoes 0r low quarter high gloss service shoes – leather soles and heel.
Class B:
- Use dress blues without jacket; use of tie required with long sleeve shirt
- Use beret or service cap as cover
- Worn with low quarter black leather service shoes 0r low quarter high gloss service shoes – leather soles and heel.
- Use ribbon bar and name plate
- Use pullover for added warmth on cold days
- Use all-weather coat for weather
- Black windbreaker
ACU: for Weapon training, cleanup detail, alternate ceremonial uniform with severe weather
- Use sand colored boots and undershirt (do not use equivalent former BDU components)
- Use field cap at all times
- Use beret ONLY when specifically instructed
- Use thermals, field jacket or rain poncho for weather
- Use black leather or tactical gloves
- Use Velcro for all insignia and patches with one exception: sew rank onto field cap and Kevlar helmet cover
Corps Blazer:
- White long sleeve shirt
- VCA Corp tie
- No Jeans
Class A: for Corps representative at meetings, with Commandant permission: funerals, wedding
- Long sleeve white shirt (w/ epaulets)
- Black 4 in hand tie
- Service Jacket with appropriate accoutrements
- Worn with low quarter black leather service shoes 0r low quarter high gloss service shoes – leather soles and heel.
