If you have been keeping up with some recent events regarding the new “Distinguished Warfare Medal”, you would know that there has been a lot of controversy regarding the ranking of that medal vs. combat related medals.
Specifically, many have complaint about it been ranked above the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. The Bronze Star is usually awarded for heroism or acts of merit in a combat zone. Mostly every American knows that the Purple Heart is awarded to those wounded or killed while serving in combat.
Many have argued that the ranking of the Distinguished Warfare Medal, which can be awarded to those serving hundreds or thousands of miles away from danger, is a slap in the face to those who are in actual combat and in real danger of losing life.

Recent news regarding the US Drone program, centers around the ability or legality of the US. targeting American citizens. Many questions have been asked and Senator Rand Paul even filibustered during a confirmation hearing for 12 plus hours in order to be heard.

MAJ Thomas C. Griffin, navigator for crew 9 passed away on 26 February 2013. There are now only 4 surviving Dolittle Raiders.

“History of the Veteran Corps of Artillery constituting the Military Society of the War of 1812” by Captain Kelly Loyd Stewart and Brigadier General John Lawrence Beglan, Jr.
The book is approximately 800 pages profusely illustrated with photographs, drawings and paintings. The hardcover will be cloth bound in field artillery red and gold embossed with the Corps and Society emblems. The book contains a history of the Corps and Society from 1790/1826 to present and biographies of everyone who was ever a member of each organization from its beginning through November 2012.
The standard copy will be $95.00 (postage included). This edition can be enhanced with a special dedication page at the front for an additional $30.00 (tax deductible contribution to the Society).
