The 353rd Civil Affairs Command conducted a General officer change of Command at Battery Weed, located at Ft.
Wadsworth , Staten Island on Sunday June 24th at 1000hrs.

The Veteran Corps of Artillery fired eleven blank rounds from three 75mm Pack Howitzers, in support of the Change of Command.

BG Van Roosen relinquished command over to BG Ammerman and the ceremony was presided by the USACAPOC CG , MG Jacobs.

Both military personnel and civilians approached the VCA to offer many words of thanks for our support, and to pose for photos, including the General officers. One spectator (currently US Army :) even said that the VCASNY salute reminded him of his Marine Corps days :)

It was formed in Manhattan on Evacuation Day (New York), November 25, 1790, by Veterans of Washington’s Continental Army Corps of Artillery. The VCASNY today serves primarily as a ceremonial unit, and during the course of its' drill year, is invited to participate in numerous New York City parades, civic and patriotic events. Independently or in association with traditional veterans organizations, the VCASNY also serves as honor guard and provides firing parties for military funerals, military anniversaries and other events of military interest.
